Buriram United once again stamped their dominance on Thai football by clinching their 10th Thai League 1 title in style, following a resounding 7-0 victory over Nongbua Pitchaya on Wednesday night at Chang Arena.
Heading into the final matchday, Buriram held a narrow one-point lead over closest rivals Bangkok United, sitting atop the table with 67 points. Only a win could guarantee the title, and the Thunder Castle delivered a statement performance to retain their crown for the fourth consecutive season since 2021.
Despite missing Dion Cools, their influential Malaysian international and defensive anchor, Buriram United showed no signs of vulnerability. In his absence, Lucas Crispim was deployed on the right flank—a role typically associated with the Harimau Malaya captain—and proved instrumental in attack.
Buriram tore through Nongbua Pitchaya with ruthless efficiency. Guilherme Bissoli and Martin Boakye both netted braces, while Crispim, Pansa Hemviboon, and Phitiwat Sukjitthammakul each added a goal to complete the 7-0 demolition.
The victory ensured the title remained in Buriram for yet another year, as Bangkok United stumbled to a 2-2 draw against PT Prachuap, dashing their hopes of a last-minute upset.
This latest triumph adds to Buriram United’s impressive legacy, with Thai League 1 titles secured in the 2008, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and now the 2024-2025 seasons.
With four straight league titles, Buriram United have firmly cemented their status as the powerhouse of Thai football—combining depth, quality, and relentless ambition season after season.
