Brad Maloney, head coach of Malaysia U23 national team accepts that it is a difficult situation. after losing to Thailand U23 0-3 in the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022 group stage, Group C yesterday and eliminated due to losing 2 matches consecutive.
“We started well in the first 20 minutes where we controlled the game, we looked really good at the time,” Maloney told a post-match press conference.
“Then, it was booed in the 23rd minute which forced us to catch up and it really paid off.”
“It is a very disappointing situation for us. But no matter what, we have to give credit to Thailand for what they have done [well].”
“I think the players and for the best and I think we need to improve a lot more. We have to focus because we are lazy in the game, that is our own fault.”
“We need to look forward to focus on the next match. I hope the players can bounce back in the match against Vietnam later.”
