Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) coach Benjamin Mora stressed that he would follow in the footsteps of Tunku Mahkota Johor (TMJ), Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim if the club’s owner decided to retire from the Malaysian football.
Earlier, Tunku Ismail said on Instagram today that he was ready to leave football if the Harimau Selatan squad lost to Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC in the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Cup (Piala Sumbangsih) 2022 Contribution Match at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri tomorrow night.
“If TMJ wants to leave (retire from football if they lose to KL City), I will also leave.” Mora said in press conference
“However, we observe the true meaning of TMJ’s statement, he actually wants victory.”
“It should be remembered that TMJ has contributed a lot to Malaysian football, both from his contribution to the league, national and development.”
“I realize this is a difficult match and everyone wants to beat JDT but I have a responsibility to convince everyone.”
“What is for sure, we will work hard to keep TMJ (in the world of national football) for a longer period,”
