Thailand U16 national team kept first 3 points after beating Timor-Leste U16 national team scoring 6-0 in the ASEAN U16 Championship 2024 Group Stage, Group C at Sriwedari Stadium, Surakarta.
Jadet Meelarp made slight adjustments to the lineup from the previous game, and the changes paid off. Thailand’s attacking prowess was on full display, starting with a goal in the 21st minute by Jomphon Hombunma, assisted by Natthakit Phosri.
Just four minutes later, in the 25th minute, Jomphon Hombunma returned the favour by setting up Natthakit Phosri, who made it 2-0 with a well-placed shot. Thailand continued to dominate, and in the 28th minute, Pramet La-ongdee assisted Hombunma for his second goal, increasing the lead to 3-0.
Natthakit Phosri was once again involved in the 38th minute, providing a perfect cross for Jomphon Hombunma to complete his hat trick, making it 4-0. Thailand ended the first half with a comfortable lead.
Thailand maintained their dominance in the second half. In the 82nd minute, Panupong Wan-on added to the tally with a well-taken goal, making it 5-0.
In injury time, Jomphon Hombunma scored his fourth goal of the match, sealing a comprehensive 6-0 victory for Thailand.
Thailand’s emphatic 6-0 victory places them at the top of Group C with four points. Timor-Leste, still without points, faces an uphill battle to advance. Thailand’s next match is against Malaysia at Manahan Stadium on June 29, 2024.
