ASEAN Football Federation(AFF) having considered recommendations from several Member Associations, the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) today announced amended dates for the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2024 to ensure optimum strength and performance of national teams at the tournament.
AFF has announced new dates for the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2024, to optimize the strength and performance of the national teams. The qualification round remains scheduled for October 8th and 15th. However, the group stage will now commence on December 8th, followed by the semi-finals from December 26th to 30th, and the finals on January 2nd and 5th.
The competition will begin with a Qualifying Round Play-Off between Brunei Darussalam and Timor Leste, who will compete in home and away matches for a spot in the main tournament. The main group stage will include ten teams: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, alongside the winner of the play-off.
The teams will be divided into two groups of five, and after the round-robin group stage, the top two finishers from each group will advance to the semi-finals, with the winners proceeding to the finals to compete for the championship.
