Malaysian rider Hafizh Syahrin from JDT Racing Team delivered a masterclass performance as he stormed to victory in Race 1 of Round 4 of the Asia Road Racing Championship 2025 at Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Lombok on Saturday.
Representing JDT Racing Team, Hafizh started from pole position, having secured P1 earlier in qualifying with a blistering pace. Despite dropping to third place in the opening laps, the 30-year-old showcased his trademark resilience and control, clawing back to the front before sealing victory with the fastest lap time of 1:35.209 minutes.
The win was not only a statement of Hafizh’s growing dominance in the series but also a proud moment for Malaysian motorsport fans.
Malaysia’s presence on the podium was further solidified by Zaqhwan Zaidi of IDEMITSU Honda Racing Malaysia, who claimed third place, finishing 3.088 seconds behind Hafizh. Veteran rider Azlan Shah Kamarulzaman of A1 Energy BMW Racing Team narrowly missed the podium in fourth, trailing by +5.913s, while Azroy Hakeem Anuar (IDEMITSU Honda Racing Malaysia) came home fifth with a gap of +10.784s.
The strong collective showing from the Malaysian contingent underlined the country’s rising momentum in the ARRC paddock.
Fans can expect more action on Sunday, with the warm-up session in the morning before the much-anticipated Race 2 in the afternoon, where Hafizh and his compatriots will aim to carry their momentum forward.
