Malaysia resumed the second half with even greater urgency. Barely a minute in, Endrick dos Santos unleashed a thunderous shot, narrowly missing the target. Moments later, a corner kick presented another golden opportunity for Hakimi, whose header was expertly saved by Singapore’s veteran goalkeeper, Izwan Mahbud.

Malaysia came close again through a dead-ball opportunity, but Paulo Josue’s well-placed free kick was not capitalized upon by the Malaysian attackers.
