Terengganu FC, a club from Malaysia, still secure an ‘unbeaten’ record in this round after back to beating Stallion Laguna, a club from Philippines, with a score of 3-2 in the AFC Cup 2023/24 Group Stage, Group G at Biñan Football Stadium, Biñan.
Stallion scored a goal as early as the third minute through a goal by Junior Ngong Sam before Griffin McDaniel added the second goal 11 minutes later when his long-range shot beat the goalkeeper, Suhaimi Husin.
Tomislav Steinbruckner’s men, however, narrowed the gap in the 33rd minute when Stallions defender Matthew Nierras headed the ball into his own goal.
The goal boosted Terengganu’s spirit to rise, and their hard work paid off when Ivan Mamut scored the equalizer in the 67th minute after finishing off Norde’s pass.
Norde then emerged as TFC’s hero when he scored the winning goal with four minutes left in the match, thus allowing the Turtles to steal three important points at home.
The result saw TFC maintain their unbeaten record in four games and go top of the group with eight points, two ahead of Australian club Central Coast Marines, who will face Bali United tonight.
