Ministry of Youth and Sports of Malaysia (KBS) agreed to change the grass at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi here from Cow grass to Zeon Zoysia which is suitable for sports use, especially for football matches.
According to him, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hannah Yeoh previously made an offer to all state governments to choose a suitable stadium for the replacement of the grass which uses the cost-sharing method where half is borne by the state government and the other half by the ministry.
Zeon Zoysia grass that has been used at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Johor; Singapore National Stadium and Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Indonesia.
“I have informed the state government in the last two weeks, basically we agreed to choose Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium for that purpose.”
“However, the date for the implementation of this grass replacement has not been set because we also need to see the Super League match schedule which will start soon,” he said.
In the meantime, Mohamad Taufek who is also the Vice President of the Negeri Sembilan Football Association (PBNS) also opined that if the grass replacement work collides with a Super League match, the alternative field that can be used is the Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) training field in Nilai or University of Technology Mara (UiTM) Seremban 3.
