FIFA has revealed the candidates shortlisted for The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2022 on 13th January 2022 on FIFA.com website.
The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2022 was categorized into The Best FIFA Women’s Player, The Best FIFA Men’s Player, The Best FIFA Women’s Coach, The Best FIFA Men’s Coach, The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper, The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper, The FIFA Puskás Award and last but not least the Best FIFA Fans Award.
Focusing on the Best FIFA Fans Award, though the Japanese were eliminated in the Round 16 of the FIFA World Cup 2022 after being beaten by Croatia 3-1 on penalties, the Blue Samurai’s fans have kept their tradition well every game.
Whether their national team won or lost, they stayed behind to help clean the stadium after World Cup games. This action has earned worldwide recognition for their tradition.
Kudos to the Blue Samurai’s Fans! You guys earned it well! We hope you all win the awards!

Public voting is open on FIFA+and will run until 23:59 CET on 3 February 2023.
FIFA will announce the three finalists in each of the seven categories listed above in early February 2023.
