The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s independent Entry Control Body (ECB) has decided to withdraw the licences of 3 teams from Iran such as Persepolis FC, Esteghlal FC and Gol Gohar Sirjan FC and ineligible to participate in the AFC Champions League 2022
The independent access control agency (ECB) has confirmed that the 3 Iran clubs had not satisfied all of the mandatory criteria (as required under Articles 3.1 and 3.2(a) of the AFC Club Licensing Regulations)
In addition, Gol Gohar Serjan FC has also extraordinary application submitted but the ECB also rejected.
Now Iran has just two teams in the AFC Champions League 2022, such as Foolad Hazfi Cup winner and Sepahan runners-up of Persian gulf pro League, and both teams will play in the group stage.
