Malaysia’s top men’s doubles pair, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, delivered a commanding performance to book their spot in the final of the VICTOR China Open 2025, continuing their impressive form on the BWF World Tour.
The world No. 2 duo were in sublime form as they dismantled India’s 2022 Asian Games gold medallists, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, in straight sets — 21-13, 21-17 — during Saturday’s semi-final at the Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium in Changzhou (July 26).
With this victory, Aaron and Wooi Yik are now one win away from claiming their maiden BWF World Tour Super 1000 title. They will face Indonesia’s scratch pair, Fajar Alfian and Shohibul Fikri, in what promises to be a thrilling final on Sunday (July 27).
Fajar and Shohibul also pulled off a stunning upset in the other semi-final, defeating Chinese home favourites and Paris Olympics silver medallists, Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang, 21-19, 21-17.
