The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has officially appointed Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Hamidin Haji Mohd Amin as the Honorary President of FAM, following approval from its First Extraordinary Congress of 2025, held at the Dorsett Grand Subang, Selangor, on June 30.
This honorary title was awarded in recognition of Tan Sri Hamidin’s three decades of distinguished service, extensive leadership, and unwavering contributions to the growth of Malaysian and international football.
Tan Sri Hamidin served as FAM President from July 2018 to February 2025, leading various landmark initiatives that elevated Malaysia’s football profile both locally and globally. His appointment was unanimously proposed by the FAM Executive Committee during its third meeting of the 2025–2029 term on June 12, before being ratified at today’s Congress.

This is only the second time the Honorary Presidency has been awarded, following the posthumous conferment to Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in 2014, who led FAM from 1984 to 2014.
