Malaysia Beach Soccer National Team, missed first point unfortunately after losing to Bahrain National Team scoring 3-4 in the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup 2025 Group Stage, group D at Jomtien Beach Arena, Pattaya.
The high-octane encounter saw Bahrain join Oman at the top of the group, but they had to work hard to overcome a resilient Malaysian side that refused to back down.
Bahrain almost took the lead within seconds of kick-off when Isa Ghaleb’s long-range strike rattled the crossbar, but Malaysia survived the early scare.
The breakthrough arrived in the 11th minute through a moment of individual brilliance from Bahrain’s Samoual, who unleashed a stunning effort from his own half that caught Malaysia goalkeeper Mohamad Syujak off guard.
Malaysia, however, responded just before the end of the first period, with Muhamad Faizal pouncing on a rebound after Bahrain custodian Ahmed Abdulrasool had parried Muhammad Qushairie’s free-kick.
Bahrain pressed forward in the second period, with Isa Al Doseri and Hussain Al Doseri squandering golden opportunities. The breakthrough eventually came in spectacular fashion as substitute goalkeeper Sayed Mohamed fired an unstoppable long-range shot into the top corner in the 19th minute.
The West Asians extended their lead three minutes later when Abdulrasool’s long throw was inadvertently headed into his own net by Malaysia’s Faris Iman.
Malaysia, however, refused to go down without a fight. Mohamad Norazman produced a stunning overhead kick in the 24th minute to keep his side in the contest, before Mohd Ridhwan’s diving header from a quickly taken corner in the 32nd minute leveled the scores.
Just when it seemed the match was heading for extra time, Bahrain delivered the decisive blow with only 10 seconds remaining, as Ghaleb rose highest to flick home a close-range header, sealing a dramatic victory for his side.
