Malaysia national team has announced 26 players in the squad for Pestabola Merdeka 2024 (International Friendly ‘A’ Match) from 4 – 8 September 2024 at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.
New head coach Pau Marti, who recently took over from Kim Pan Gon, has retained 18 players from the last FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers Round 2 in June.
Key [layers returning include Syihan Hazmi, Arif Aiman, Romel Morales, and Safawi Rasid, among others.

Malaysia will face the Philippines in their semi-final match on September 4, 2024, at 9:00 pm, with another semi-final between Lebanon and Tajikistan earlier in the day.
The winners of the semi-finals will meet in the final on September 8, while the losing teams will compete for third place.
