Selangor FC keeps 3 consecutive victories at home after beating Perak FC, scoring 2-1 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at MBPJ Stadium, Petaling Jaya.
Selangor started the match with intent, applying early pressure on Perak’s defense. This pressure paid off in the 23rd minute when Ronnie Fernandez capitalized on a mix-up in the Perak penalty area, slotting the ball home to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
Perak’s defensive lapses continued, leading to a penalty for Selangor. Fernandez, displaying nerves of steel, stepped up and converted the spot-kick to double Selangor’s advantage in the 35th minute. The first half concluded with Selangor firmly in control at 2-0.
In the second half, Perak intensified their efforts to get back into the game. Their persistence paid off in the 79th minute when Azfar Fikri headed home, reducing the deficit to 2-1 and giving Perak a lifeline.
Despite a spirited comeback attempt by Perak, including seven minutes of added time, Selangor’s defense held firm. The home side managed to withstand the pressure and secure a crucial victory.
