Malaysia national team has called Ezequiel Aguero, a naturalization striker from Sri Pahang FC, to be player 26th for FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers round 2 matchday 6 against the Chinese Taipei national team on 11 June.
However, Kim Pan-Gon, head coach of Malaysia’s national team has called Aguero and joined in the national squad training session at Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya tonight.
Malaysia needs at least 8 goals in a match against Chinese Taipei and needs Kyrgyz Republic to lose to Oman for hope to advance to round 3 for the first time in history.
With one more match left, Malaysia is third in Group D with seven points despite leading the group-level competition after the first two matches due to victories over Kyrgyzstan and Chinese Taipei.
