Malaysia U23 national team passes to the semi-final after beating Timor-Leste U23 national team with a score of 3-1 in the AFF U23 Championship 2023 at Rayong Stadium.
In the brief action earlier, the country’s squad started fiercely when they overtook Alif Ikmalrizal Anuar’s network as early as the fifth minute before Aliff Izwan Yuslan scored the second goal eight minutes later.
The mistake of the Malaysia fortifications allowed Timor Leste to close the position in the 41st minute due to Olagar Xavier’s close range.
Alif Ikmalrizal, however, secured victory for the country’s squad when the third goal was scored by Malaysia and his second in the match in the 64th minute.
Malaysia U23 national team will face the bitter task of reaching the target of making it to the final if they have to overcome the challenge of Group C winner and defending champion Vietnam in the semi-finals on 24 August at Rayong Provincial Stadium.
