Johor Darul Ta’Zim is still secure record unbeaten in the league. after back to beat Sabah FC with a score of 5-1 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2023 at Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu.
In the first half, Goal from Jafri Firdaus Chew only lasted for about four minutes before JDT then levelled the score at 1-1 through Juan Muniz in the 16th minute.
Sabah’s attempt prevented JDT from adding to the net after that then failed when the referee awarded the JDT a penalty kick in the 23rd minute.
This good opportunity for JDT occurred after a player was accused of being brought down by the captain of Sabah, Rawilson Batuil in the penalty area for the home team.
The penalty net perfected by Bergson Da Silva put JDT ahead 2-1, at the same time starting to wear down the enthusiasm of the Sabah players to curb the JDT advance at the Likas Stadium.
That position remained until the first half game ended with three minutes of added time, before JDT again created network after network as soon as the game turned to the second half.
Bergson added two goals in the 61st and 72nd minutes to make it three goals for the JDT striker tonight, while another came from Herberty Fernandez in the 47th minute.
With a massive 5-1 netted by JDT until the 72nd minute, there was clearly no chance for the Sabah players to at least equalize as the game drew closer to the end.
Sabah’s players, who looked pressured throughout the second half, could not hold off the advance of JDT’s players, who appeared to be more aggressive in their desire to add to the network.
