Sri Pahang broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when Sean Selvaraj rose to meet a well-delivered cross, heading the ball past Selangor goalkeeper Azim Al Amin. The home crowd erupted as the Elephants secured a vital lead.
The first half concluded with Sri Pahang leading 1-0, as Selangor struggled to find their rhythm on the difficult pitch.
