After a two-hour meeting and thorough discussion on various issues and the club’s current financial capabilities, a new chapter begins for Kelantan TRW as a new President officially steps in to lead the team back to stability and competitiveness.
In his official statement, the newly appointed President of Kelantan TRW confirmed his acceptance of the role, driven by a desire to uplift the Super League team and ensure the long-term sustainability of the club.
“After nearly two hours listening to the club’s explanations on various matters and assessing the capabilities and commitment of the shareholders, I have agreed to take on the role of President of Kelantan TRW,” he said.
He outlined two core objectives:
- To enhance the quality and competitiveness of Kelantan’s Super League squad for the 2025/26 season.
- To ensure the club remains financially viable, particularly in settling the remaining salary arrears owed to players.
It was confirmed that the club has fully settled all salary arrears up to the 2024 financial year, with ongoing efforts now focused on resolving the current year’s dues.
“I am satisfied with the club’s commitment to resolving its historical debts,” he added, while acknowledging that a portion of the funds must also be channelled into building a competitive squad for the upcoming season.
In a bid to further stabilise and structure the club, Head Coach E. Elavarasan has been promoted to also serve as Team Manager, supported by two assistant managers and four assistant coaches, forming a stronger and more cohesive backroom team.
Addressing concerns about FIFA sanctions, the President revealed that:
- 7 out of 9 FIFA sanctions have been successfully resolved.
- The remaining 2 sanctions are currently being handled, with one expected to be cleared within the week.
Kelantan TRW is set to host FC Yala from Thai League 3 Southern Zone on 26 July 2025 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Bharu as part of their pre-season preparations, marking a key fixture ahead of their 2025/26 Super League campaign.
