Malaysian Sepaktakraw Federation (PSM) is buzzing with excitement following the official declaration of Stadium Titiwangsa as the permanent “Home of Sepaktakraw.”
For decades, fans and “tekongs” across the nation have dreamed of a dedicated temple for the sport. Now, thanks to a major assist from YB Hannah Yeoh and the Federal Territories Ministry, that dream is a concrete reality. This isn’t just a venue change; it’s a total identity shift for Malaysia’s most iconic heritage sport!
PSM President Dato’ Mohd Sumali Reduan couldn’t hide his pride, hailing the move as a game-changer for the sport’s future.
“This is a historic moment,” Dato’ Mohd Sumali stated. “For the first time, an iconic venue in KL has been given a specific identity as the official center for sepaktakraw. It’s an honor for every fan who has waited years for this!”
4 REASONS WHY THIS IS A WIN FOR THE FANS:
- Heritage Protection: Ensuring sepaktakraw stays alive and kicking for generations to come.
- Youth Movement: A dedicated hub means more grassroots tournaments for the next generation of stars.
- World-Class Ambition: Malaysia is now primed to host international tournaments on a consistent basis. No more venue hunting!
- Cultural Icon: Elevating the sport as a symbol of Malaysian culture in the middle of a modern metropolis.
Stadium Titiwangsa has already seen some legendary battles, but as the official “Home of Sepaktakraw,” the atmosphere is about to go through the roof. From hosting local leagues to inviting the world’s best for international showdowns, this venue is set to become the “Wembley” of sepaktakraw.
