Malaysian athletes delivered a mix of competitive performances in the Group Stage of the Teqball Tour Bangkok 2025 across both Mixed Doubles and Women’s Doubles categories, with all pairs showing fierce determination on the table.
Mixed Doubles: Fariz & Nur Batrisyia Finish Third in Group A
The Malaysian Mixed Doubles pair of Faris Farizal and Nur Batrisyia Afrina Iskandar finished third in a challenging Group A.
Their campaign began with a tough opening match against the eventual group winners, Suphawadi Wongkhamchan / Phakpong Dejaroen (Thailand), where they were defeated in straight sets (2:0).
The second group match saw them face Ash Hameed / Naricha Deeduangphan (Thailand), where they pushed the match to a decisive third set before ultimately falling 2:1 (0:2, 1:2, 1:4).
With one point from the loss, the duo finished the group with 2 points, placing them third in the standings.
Mixed Doubles: Muhammad Eizlan & Nur Natasha Amrya Also Finish Third in Group B
In Mixed Doubles Group B, the Malaysian duo of Muhammad Eizlan Rakhil Bin Abd Rahman and Nur Natasha Amrya NATASYA also claimed a third-place finish.
They faced a formidable challenge from the group victors, Marek Pokwap / Krisztina Acs (Hungary/Poland), losing in straight sets (0:2).
However, they showed remarkable tenacity in their second match against fellow Malaysians NUR HIDAYAT AR RASYID / Nurul Syafiqah JAFRI, securing a narrow 2:1 victory (0:2, 2:1, 3:7) to take their first and only win of the group stage. This win earned them a total of 3 points for the group.
Women’s Doubles: Group B Struggles for Malaysian Pair
In Women’s Doubles Group B, the team of nur natasha amyra NATASYA / Nurul Syafiqah JAFRI faced stiff competition and ended the group stage at the bottom with 2 points.
They were defeated 2:0 by both:
- Kristina Acs / Kinga Barabasi (Hungary)
- Naing Naing Win / Hsu Mon Aung (Myanmar)
Women’s Doubles: Aisyah & Nur Batrisyia Also Fourth in Group D
Similarly, the Women’s Doubles pair of Aisyah RANI / NUR BATRISYIA AFRINA ISKANDAR found themselves at the bottom of Group D, also finishing with 2 points.
They faced straight-set defeats (0:2) against:
- Areeya Homdee / Wantika Innu (Thailand)
- Gabriella Kota / Sumaya Sumaya (Hungary/Italy)
