Selangor FC has announced the departure of Katsuhito Kinoshi from his role as First Team Head Coach effective immediately.
The decision was confirmed in an official club statement released today, marking the end of the Japanese tactician’s tenure with the Red Giants.
The club expressed gratitude to Kinoshi for his dedication and commitment during his time at the helm, though his stint proved to be short-lived. Kinoshi, who only took charge in late 2024, had been tasked with revitalizing Selangor FC’s tactical discipline and competitive edge. However, inconsistent results and growing pressure appear to have hastened the decision.
In the interim, Selangor FC has appointed Christophe Gamel to oversee first-team duties while the management begins the search for a new permanent head coach. Gamel, who has prior experience managing both at club and national levels, is expected to provide stability during this transitional period.
The move comes as Selangor FC look to reassert themselves in both domestic and regional competitions. The club, one of Malaysia’s most storied football institutions, has been striving to reclaim its dominance in the Liga Super Malaysia and beyond.
With Gamel holding the reins temporarily, the focus now shifts to the club’s next managerial appointment—one that will be crucial in shaping Selangor’s ambitions for the coming seasons.
