Selangor FC have officially announced the arrival of French-born midfielder Mahamé Siby, who will join the Red Giants during the second transfer window of the 2025/26 season, marking his first professional move to Asia.
Born in Bobigny, France, the 29-year-old brings with him a wealth of European experience, having developed through the AF Bobigny youth system before breaking into the club’s senior side with 25 appearances. Siby later featured for Valenciennes FC and gained top-flight exposure in Ligue 1 with RC Strasbourg, where he made eight appearances.
His career continued to gather momentum in 2021 when he was loaned to Paris FC, registering 27 appearances and cementing his reputation as a reliable midfield presence. Siby then ventured to Scandinavia with Swedish giants Malmö FF, playing a role in their 2023 Allsvenskan title-winning campaign.
Subsequent loan spells back in France saw him turn out for SC Bastia (15 appearances) and FC Martigues (31 appearances), bringing his total professional tally to 129 competitive matches, with four goals and three assists to his name.
Set to experience Asian football for the first time, Siby expressed his excitement about embracing a new chapter both on and off the pitch.
“I am ready to step out of my comfort zone and embrace new challenges in a place I have never been before, especially in Asia. I’m really looking forward to exploring the beauty of Malaysia’s culture, building strong relationships with the people here, and learning from the experiences I will gain along the way,” he said.
The midfielder also acknowledged the reputation of Selangor FC’s passionate fanbase and is eager to make an impact in red and yellow.
“I’ve heard that the supporters here are incredibly devoted and always give their full support to the team. I hope to repay them by giving my maximum commitment and everything I have on the pitch. I want to leave a positive and lasting impression, not only on the supporters but also on this club,” he added.
