Rezal Zambery Yahya, Assistant head coach of Kelantan Darul Naim praised his players for their determination and execution in securing a crucial 3-2 victory against Negeri Sembilan FC.
The win, achieved dramatically, earned the team three valuable points in their Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25.
As the match seemed destined for a draw, Oday Kharoub became the hero for KDN FC, curling a free kick from the left side that caught the opposition goalkeeper off-guard, securing a last-minute 3-2 win at the Tunku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi.
“Alhamdulillah, first of all, thank you to the players. Kudos to them for performing as planned,” said Rezal.
“They didn’t panic and even managed to absorb the pressure, even though Negeri Sembilan equalized.”
Rezal highlighted the team’s resilience, noting their ability to respond under pressure.
“There are many positives here, among which we can score goals. When Negeri Sembilan scored, we managed to find a free kick, and we scored. The winning goal gives us a big smile,” he added.
Looking ahead, Rezal hopes that the victory will boost the squad’s morale as they prepare for their next match against Kuala Lumpur City. He emphasized the need for players to remain fully committed to improving their position in the Super League standings.
In the thrilling encounter, KDN FC took control in the first half, scoring twice through Hakimi Abdullah and Kim Li-Kwan. However, Negeri Sembilan fought back in the second half with Jaque Faye converting a penalty and Sebastian Avanzini scoring a powerful header to level the game at 2-2.
