Selangor FC passes to the final round after beating Sabah FC scoring 3-2 in the RCTI Premium Sports tournament at Jakarta International Stadium, Jakarta.
Selangor gave a chance to some new faces to be in the starting eleven of the team, while Sabah remained with the best squad but a big change in the attacking position.
The action of the first half was lively with both teams setting up moves to get the opening goal of the match.
The immunity of the defense, however, denied the efforts of the attacking machine to create a goal in the first half.
However, Selangor wisely took advantage of the opportunity at the end of the game when Aliff Haikal scored two quick goals before Park Tae-su’s own goal added to the suffering of the opponents.
First half action ended with a 2-0 decision.
Continuing the second half, Sabah redoubled his efforts to find the net.
The effort paid off when the substitute player, Jaffri Firdaus, managed to beat Khairul Azhan before the Indonesian national player, Saddil Ramdani scored a minute later.
Experienced midfielder, Yohandry Orozco again put Nidzam Jamil’s team in front in the 70th minute thanks to a beautiful shot that beat Khairul Fahmi.
6 minutes of added time was not enough to change the outcome of the match which remained until the final whistle.
Selangor to the final while Sabah to the 3rd place decider. and action to determine the 3rd and 4th place will take place on 2 June 2024 at 5:30 pm, while the final is on the same day at 8 pm.
