Selangor FC has more chance to advance to the next round after back to beat PDRM FC with a score of 4-1 in the Piala Malaysia 2023 Round of 16 first leg at MBPJ Stadium, Petaling Jaya.
PDRM FC’s defense managed to pull off a visitors try in the 17th minute which almost resulted in the opening goal before Ramdhan Hamid caught Brendan Gan’s treble a minute later.
However, Selangor was stunned in the 25th minute when PDRM FC had a chance from Hadi Fayyadh and received Bruno Suzuki’s attempt to be hit by a post after Samuel Sommerville blocked the import striker’s move.
In the second half, Selangor continued hard work paid off after Ayron del Valle saved Brendan’s cross in the 56th minute.
Two minutes after Ramdhan brilliantly saved Noor Al Rawabdeh’s attempt in the 61st minute, del Valle scored SFC’s second goal via an acrobatic net to make it 2-1.
PDRM FC suffered even more when Selangor fierce with the third goal in the 72nd minute from Harith Haiqal Adam Afkar followed by the fourth goal by Yohandry Orozco at the end of the game.
In the second match, Selangor FC will play as a home team on 19 August, at 5.30 pm at MBPJ Stadium, Petaling Jaya.
