Perak FC, advanced to semi-final after beating Sabah FC with a score of 1-0 in the Piala Malaysia 2023 Quarter-Final second leg at Stadium Perak, Ipoh.
Down without a net advantage, smart action and reciprocating attacks were exhibited by both teams in search of an early goal as soon as the game started.
Perak, however, found the net first when Sunday Afolabi’s clever cross in the 45th minute was finished off by Wan Zack Haikal Wan Nor.
Sabah almost equalized in the 74th minute, but Ramon Machado’s shot in the penalty area only stopped at the goal bar.
However, Perak managed to maintain the one goal advantage until the end of the game to create a surprise move to the semifinals after facing poor performance at the start of this season.
This decision saw the Perak FC progress with an aggregate of 3-2 and advanced to semi-final to meets Johor Darul Ta’Zim.
