Malaysia head coach Peter Cklamovski has urged his players to remain disciplined and raise their intensity as they prepare to face Palestine in their second Tier 1 International Friendly at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri tomorrow.
The 46-year-old Australian tactician was upbeat about the positives drawn from Malaysia’s 2-1 victory over Singapore last week but insisted his side must show a more aggressive brand of football against Palestine.
“We’re facing a good team and we respect them, but we’ll do everything we can to win,” said Cklamovski in the pre-match press conference.
“We must maintain our discipline. There were many positives against Singapore, and whoever plays tomorrow has the chance to wear this jersey with pride and make the country proud. Every player who starts will make an impact.”
When asked about the absence of key players such as Facundo Garcés and Faisal Halim, the coach remained calm, emphasizing the importance of collective effort.
“The plan remains the same. We attack and defend as one team, and that doesn’t change just because one or two players are missing. We’ll have 11 men on the pitch ready for the challenge,” he explained.
“It’s a test for us, but we’ll be more aggressive and make sure Palestine face a tough opponent. I want them to walk off the pitch thinking they never want to play Malaysia again.”
Kick-off at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium is scheduled for September 8 at 9:00 PM (local time).
