Datuk Ong Kim Swee, head coach of Sabah FC, said that even though he was aware of the challenging task his men had to face PSM Makassar players on the opposing side, he was confident that Sabah FC would still be able to make good decisions.
Last match, Sabah FC’s has the achievement of beating Hougang United FC from Singapore 3-1 in the first match of the AFC Cup 2023/24 Group Stage, Group H at the Likas Stadium.
“PSM Makassar definitely wants to get back up after losing at the hands of Vietnamese troops (Hai Phong FC) in the first match recently.” OKS said in a pre-match press conference.
“However, we still hope to make a good decision based on Sabah FC’s achievements against Hougang previously,”
Kim Swee also described each player’s training as important based on who the opponent is and the style of play that his team will face every time there is a match in a tournament.
“The difference this time is that we are here (Bali) earlier and we hope that this will help make it easier for us to face PSM Makassar,” he said.
“For me, this is a fascinating match, especially playing in my village. However, I hope that what is planned can be achieved tomorrow,”
