Datuk Ong Kim Swee, head coach of Sabah FC, admitted our team had died after scoring the first goal in the first 12th-minute opener causing the movement of his men to change before the opposition took chances to create goals.
He said he also agreed that JDT had quality players, apart from the failure of Sabah FC’s own players to be defensive, especially in the second half of the period, which opened up space for the JDT to get many opportunities.
“We died right after we scored a goal where after that several injury incidents occurred and the ‘movement of game’ changed. Lots of injuries and roughness and this changed the course of the game.” OKS said.
“We also need to agree here that the JDT team have quality players. We failed to control the game in the second half especially when we tried to get an equalizer but they got more chances than what we wanted,”
Sabah also played without some of its milestones like Saddil Ramdani, Gary Steven Robbat and Amri Yahyah following injuries.
“They have injuries and when we have injuries we cannot play the players we want, but what is with the players we have we have to give them confidence,” OKS explained.
“I am proud of all the players and I am also very happy that the players were able to reach the expected results,”
