Natxo Insa and Feroz Baharudin, 2 players from Johor Darul Ta’Zim were released from the Malaysia national team’s centralized training camp in Kuala Terengganu due to hamstring injury.
Natxo reported to camp together with the other players on 10 June however, daily observation by the team’s doctors and physiotherapists found out that he will not be ready for both matches, against the Solomon Islands last Wednesday and Papua New Guinea, this Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Feroz was listed in the first eleven of the Tier 1 International Match against Solomon Islands in Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium but, was substituted in the 44th minute due to hamstring injury.
Definitely as the head coach, i am a little disappointed as we were unable to fully utilise both these players in this FIFA window but at the same time, saddened by the injury to Natxo and Feroz.
I hope that both of them have a speedy recovery and will be back in action with JDT, and remain fit for the next Harimau Malaya training camp.
With the absence of Natxo and Feroz, the Harimau Malaya squad will continue with the centralized training camp with the remaining 24 players including Shahrel Fikri Md Fauzi and Nooa Laine for the upcoming match against Papua New Guinea in Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, this Tuesday.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank His Royal Highness Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Crown Prince of Johor, the JDT owner for his willingness and concern of the Harimau Malaya squad.
As is well known, half of the Harimau Malaya squad is made up with players from JDT and of course, with the support and help of Tunku Ismail, the Harimau Malaya coaching staff is able to form a strong squad combination with players from other clubs that were called up this time.
