Malaysian Football League (MFL) has announced strict disciplinary action against Sri Pahang FC, Kedah Darul Aman FC, and Perak FC following their withdrawal and failure to obtain the National Club Licensing for the 2025–2026 season.
The decision was made during MFL’s 15th Board of Directors Meeting, with all three clubs found to have violated the league’s constitution and licensing regulations.
- Sri Pahang FC, who withdrew from the Malaysian League, has been suspended from all MFL competitions for one season, effective from the 2025–2026 campaign.
- Kedah Darul Aman FC and Perak FC, both of whom failed to secure their National Licenses, have been suspended for two seasons – covering 2025–2026 and 2026–2027.
According to MFL regulations, any club that withdraws from the Malaysian League will lose all benefits as an MFL partner club and face restrictions from football activities until further notice.
In addition to the suspensions, all three clubs will forfeit their rights to merit-based financial distribution for the recently concluded 2024/25 Malaysia League season, further tightening the sanctions imposed.
The MFL emphasized that these measures are intended to protect the integrity of the Malaysian League system and ensure all clubs remain accountable to the licensing framework.
This latest ruling highlights the growing pressure on Malaysian clubs to maintain financial stability, governance standards, and long-term sustainability in line with both domestic and AFC regulations.
