Datuk Nur Azmi, President of Melaka Football Association (MAFA) has confirmed Melaka United changed name to Melaka FC to play in Liga M3 season 2023
Melaka United just failed to grant a national license and can’t participate to play in Liga Super Malaysia 2023. Which they will back to start from the amateur league.
In addition, the Melaka United Football Association (MUSA) is now replaced by MAFA with immediate effect.
“I want to focus and make sure the salary is paid on time. I will make sure that even if I am in debt, it is not a debt to the players because that service is the most important in returning football as the number one sport in this state,” Datuk Nur Azmi, President MAFA said.
“There are already several names, but not sure whether to choose a local coach or an import. We made early preparations and they are expected to start training early next month,”
Melaka FC in season 2023 squad will have a new look in their mission to return to the Super League in 2024, in addition to being eligible to play in the FA Cup next season.
Despite competing in the lower league, MAFA will make every effort to ensure that the team has the same quality as the Super League team by lining up at least 10 players from Malacca.
MAFA also shortlisted four coaches, two foreign coaches and two local coaches to steer the team through the involvement of a technical committee that will be appointed to work with the coach in the aspect of player selection.
