Malaysia U17 national team played in their first friendly game, losing to Uzbekistan U17 national team with a score of 2-3 in the International Match Tier 2 at UiTM Stadium, Shah Alam.
Malaysia is side fell behind in the 12th minute to Mirzaev Lazizbek’s goal before Farish Danish Mohd Asrul equalized in the 18th minute.
Uzbekistan were however back in front when Uktamov Ozodbek found the net in the 66th minute and they were more comfortable four minutes later after Karimov Ollabergan added the third.
The nation’s squad rallied to close the gap on Muhammad Ryan Fahreen’s blast in the 79th minute, but failed to at least find an equalizer until the end of the game.
The friendly match was part of the preparations for the country’s young players to face the final round of the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2023 in Thailand, starting 15 June.
