Only 25 players will be in the final list of teams scheduled to leave for Yogyakarta on July 30.
AFF U16 Championship 2022 will be joined by 12 teams divided into three groups. Malaysia stayed in Group C with Australia, Myanmar, and Cambodia.
The Malaysia U16 will start their Group C campaign against Cambodia on August 2, followed by the next match against Myanmar on August 5 and the last group match against Australia on August 8, 2022. All three matches are at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman.
The three group champions as well as the best team in second place will qualify for the semi -finals on August 10 while the third place match and the Final are scheduled to take place on August 12, 2022 at the Maguwoharjo Stadium in Sleman.
With the cancellation of two consecutive editions in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Malaysia is the defending champion then won the AFF U15 Championship 2019 in Chonburi with a 2-1 victory over hosts Thailand in the final under the management of P. Maniam.
