Peter Cklamovski, head coach of Malaysia National Team has named a 29-player squad for upcoming centralised training camp, which kicks off on Monday, 1 September 2025, as preparations intensify for two Tier 1 international friendlies against Singapore and Palestine.
The squad retains 25 players from June’s 2027 AFC Asian Cup Final Round Qualifier against Vietnam, while introducing four fresh faces: Ezequiel Aguero (Kanchanaburi Power, Thailand), Suhaimi Husin (Terengganu), Azam Azmi Murad (Terengganu), and Richard Chin (Raith Rovers, Scotland).
As expected, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) continue to form the backbone of the national team, contributing nine players, including key names such as Syihan Hazmi, Arif Aiman, Romel Morales, and La’Vere Corbin-Ong.
Selangor add four representatives, led by Faisal Halim, while Sabah contribute three players, including midfield dynamo Stuart Wilkin. Overseas-based players such as Dion Cools (Cerezo Osaka), Facundo Garces (Deportivo Alaves), and Rodrigo Holgado (América de Cali) add international pedigree to the roster.
Alongside the main squad, Cklamovski has also named 15 standby players, featuring experienced names such as Mohamadou Sumareh, Junior Eldstal, Darren Lok, and emerging talents like Sikh Izhan and Wan Kuzain Wan Kamal.
Harimau Malaya will begin training in Kuala Lumpur from 1–3 September, before facing Singapore (FIFA rank 159th) at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil, on Thursday, 4 September 2025 (9:00 PM).
The squad will then shift base to Johor Bahru from 5 September, ahead of their clash with Palestine (FIFA rank 98th) at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri, on Monday, 8 September 2025 (9:00 PM).
With a balanced mix of local stars, naturalised players, and foreign-based talent, Cklamovski will be eager to test his options and build momentum as Malaysia continues preparations for the long road to the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.
