Lion City Sailors have parted ways with head coach Jesús Casas, bringing an abrupt end to his tenure at the Singapore club.
The Sailors confirmed the decision on Tuesday, with Assistant Coach Varo Moreno appointed to take charge of the first team on an interim basis until further notice.
The coaching change comes as the club prepares to navigate the remainder of the season, with Moreno now tasked with maintaining stability and ensuring the team remains focused on its competitive objectives.
Moreno, who has worked as part of Casas’ coaching staff, will now assume responsibility for first-team affairs.
His immediate challenge will be to provide continuity during the transition while keeping the squad focused both tactically and mentally.
With the club yet to announce a permanent successor, Moreno will lead preparations and matchday responsibilities until further notice.
Casas’ departure opens a new chapter for one of Singapore’s leading professional clubs.
The Sailors will now begin the search for a new head coach while Moreno attempts to steady the ship from within the existing coaching structure.
For the players, the priority will be adapting quickly to the change in leadership and maintaining their competitive standards.
The club is expected to provide further details regarding its permanent coaching plans in due course.
