Selangor FC secured a crucial 3–1 victory over Imigresen FC in the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 at Stadium Negeri Pulau Pinang, Batu Kawan.
Imigresen lined up with Farhan Majid guarding the goal and captain Fadzrul Danel marshalling the midfield, while Joao Pedro spearheaded the home side’s attack. For the visitors, Sikh Izhan Nazrel started in goal for the Red Giants, with Chrigor Moraes leading the front line.
Both teams began brightly, trading attacks in an evenly contested opening half. Despite Selangor creating several dangerous chances, the score remained goalless after 45 minutes, with Farhan Majid producing a series of sharp saves to deny the visitors.
After the interval, Selangor maintained their attacking pressure and were eventually rewarded in the 56th minute when Alvin Fortes broke the deadlock with a clinical finish to give the Red Giants a deserved 1–0 lead.
However, the hosts hit back 10 minutes later through Venezuelan midfielder Eduardo Sosa, who capitalized on a defensive lapse to make it 1–1.
The parity was short-lived, as Selangor immediately restored their advantage just a minute later — Chrigor Moraes coolly slotting home to put his side back in front at 2–1.
Selangor then extended their lead in the 71st minute when Faisal Halim found the net with a composed finish, sealing the 3–1 victory and capping off an impressive second-half display for Christophe Gamel’s men.
The result marked Selangor’s strong recovery following recent continental fixtures and lifted them higher in the Super League standings, showcasing the team’s resilience and attacking depth.
Imigresen, meanwhile, continue to search for consistency in their debut top-flight campaign, despite flashes of promise in front of their home supporters.
Next, Imigresen FC will host Sabah FC at the same venue on October 26, while Selangor FC turn their focus to the FA Cup Quarter-Final first leg against Negeri Sembilan FC at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi, on October 18.
