PDRM FC secured a vital 3 points at home after defeating Kuala Lumpur City with a 2-1 victory in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Stadium MPS, Selayang.
The match was played under challenging conditions due to heavy rain before the game, which left the field waterlogged, making it difficult for both teams to play their usual style.
PDRM, coming off a two-match unbeaten run, took an early lead in the ninth minute when Ifedayo Omosuyi capitalized on a pass from Bruno Suzuki to score.
KL City, determined to find an equalizer, managed to level the score in the 51st minute. A well-placed cross from national player Haqimi Azim Rosli was expertly finished by Jovan Motika, bringing the game to 1-1.
However, PDRM quickly regained the lead in the 65th minute when Fadi Awad found the net with a close-range shot. The situation became more challenging for PDRM seven minutes later when defender Mohd Safiee Ahmad was shown a red card for a foul on Patrick Reichelt, reducing PDRM to 10 men.
Despite having the numerical advantage, KL City was unable to capitalize on the situation and failed to score an equalizer. The loss was compounded by their subsequent 0-2 defeat to Terengganu FC at home, causing them to drop to 11th place in the league standings with just five points.
Meanwhile, the victory propelled PDRM FC to sixth place with 11 points, reflecting their strong start to the season.
