Negeri Sembilan FC has a chance to take 3rd rank this season after beating Kedah Darul Aman with a score of 4-3 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2022 at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi.
At the start of the action, NSFC was seen to be under pressure with Kedah’s attack and midfield dominating the match and successfully making an attempt towards the home team’s goal.
In the 17th minute, the visitors almost got the first goal but Mahmoud Nayef Ahmad’s free kick from a distance of about 25 meters hit the crossbar.
But NSFC, who are hoping for a victory, continue to double the pressure on the visiting team’s fortress.
Through a quick attack from the left, Matheus Alves cleverly deceived Kedah’s defense when he scored the first goal in the 25th minute, beating goalkeeper Mohd Shahril Saari.
However, that position did not last long when the Red Eagles scored an equalizing goal.
As a result of a one-two movement with Ronald Ngah, Mahmoud Nayef easily pushed the ball into the NSFC goal in the 45th minute, thus beating the goalkeeper, Ahmad Syihan Hazmi Mohamed.
Continuing the second half, NSFC led by K Devan was seen streamlining the attack machinery and increasing the intensity of the game.
The effort paid off when they managed to get a second goal through Gustavo Dos Santos’ goal in the 58th minute.
The hosts continued to extend their dominance through the third goal in the 65th minute, scored by substitute Sean Eugene Selvaraj and followed by the fourth goal scored by Gustavo dos Santos, four minutes later.
However, Kedah managed to close the gap through the second and third goals scored respectively by Sanrawat Dechmitr and Marcos Vales Gonzales in the 82nd and 89th minutes, but the victory belonged to the Hobin Jang Hobin squad until the final whistle.
The 11th victory achieved by the Hobin Jang Hobin squad allowed the team to continue competing with Terengganu FC (TFC) and Sabah FC to hunt for a slot in the AFC Cup competition next season.
