Negeri Sembilan staged a dramatic comeback to snatch a 2-2 draw against Kuching City in Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi.
The Jangs named Azri Ghani in goal with Takumi Sasaki wearing the captain’s armband, while Jovan Motika spearheaded their attack. The visitors, Kuching City, fielded Haziq Nadzli between the posts, Rodney Celvin in defense, and James Okwuosa leading the Borneo outfit.
It was Kuching City who struck first, as Danial Asri found the net in the 7th minute with a clinical finish to silence the home crowd. Despite mounting several dangerous attacks, Negeri Sembilan were kept at bay by the agility of goalkeeper Haziq Nadzli. The first half ended 1-0 in favor of the visitors.
Kuching City doubled their advantage just three minutes after the restart, with Cameroonian forward Ronald Ngah Wanja calmly converting to make it 2-0. At that point, the visitors looked firmly in control.
But Negeri Sembilan refused to surrender. Pushed on by their fans, they continued to press forward and finally broke through in the 79th minute when Ghanaian striker Joseph Esso reduced the deficit with a precise strike.
Deep into stoppage time, the home side’s persistence paid off. Luis Enrique pounced in the 94th minute to level the game at 2-2, sparking jubilation among the Paroi faithful.
The thrilling comeback ensured Negeri Sembilan salvaged a point from what seemed like certain defeat, while Kuching City were left frustrated after letting slip a two-goal lead.
