Melaka United, unlock a first win match of the season after invade win over Sri Pahang FC, with a score 2-1 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2022 at Stadium Darul Makmur, Kuantan.
Sri Pahang’s desire to grab their first win, after being twice disappointed by the referee’s controversial decision in the previous match, seemed to shine when the home team took the lead as early as the fifth minute.
This is after Mahmoud Za’tara completed a penalty kick after the Manuel Hidalgo incident was dropped by Syazwan Andik Mohd Ishak.
However, Melaka United regained the lead after six minutes of the second half, where Emmanuel Oti fired a long -range shot from outside the penalty area to beat Sri Pahang goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa.
Sri Pahang’s misfortune continued in the 63rd minute when Azwan Aripin was shown a second yellow card for his action to drop Oti.
The situation was fully utilized by the visitors to score the winning goal in the 70th minute as a result of Hasbullah Abu Bakar’s glorious right foot explosion.
With the victory, Melaka United jumped to eighth place in the Super League with four points while Sri Pahang slipped to 10th place with one point and only differed in the number of goals with Sarawak United in the relegation zone.
