Kuching City kept 3 points and climbed to top 4 after beating Kelantan Darul Naim scoring 1-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Stadium Negeri, Kuching.
Despite dominating much of the match, it took until the 37th minute for Kuching City to break the deadlock. Jordan Mintah scored the only goal of the match with a well-placed header.
In the second half, both teams created chances but were unable to find the back of the net. Kuching City came close to adding a second goal when Mintah’s header hit the crossbar in the 69th minute. Kelantan’s goalkeeper, Khatul Anuar Md Jalil, made some crucial saves to keep his team in the match, but they could not find an equalizer.
This victory propelled Kuching City into the top four of the league, marking their third win and extending their unbeaten run to six matches. Unfortunately for Kelantan Darul Naim FC, they suffered their fifth consecutive loss, remaining near the bottom of the table with just three points from nine matches.
Kuching City will next face Selangor FC on September 13, while Kelantan Darul Naim FC will have a break before taking on league leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim on September 22.
