Kuala Lumpur City produced a commanding performance on the road, thrashing Brunei DPMM 4-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 at Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium, Berakas.
The hosts fielded Haimie Abdullah between the posts, with Ramadhan Sananta spearheading the attack and skipper Azwan Ali Rahman marshalling the midfield. KL City, meanwhile, started with Quincy Kammeraad in goal and relied on prolific forward Kpah Sherman up front.
Despite playing away from home, the City Boys immediately took the initiative, launching wave after wave of attacks. DPMM held firm for the opening 20 minutes, but the deadlock was broken in the 25th minute when Yura Indera inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, gifting KL City the lead.
The hosts tried to respond by upping the tempo, but the visitors’ defense remained composed, ensuring KL City went into the break 1-0 ahead.
The second half saw KL City tighten their grip on the game. In the 55th minute, Victor Ruiz doubled the advantage after a slick one-two combination with Syamer Kutty Abba.
Five minutes later, Ruiz almost struck again with a thunderous drive, but the effort sailed just wide. The reprieve for DPMM was short-lived, however, as Safawi Rasid hammered in KL City’s third goal in the 64th minute to effectively seal the points.
Safawi then capped off the evening with his second of the match in the 84th minute, coolly finishing to complete a dominant 4-0 win.
The result sees KL City continue their impressive form under pressure, strengthening their position as one of the top contenders in the Liga Super Malaysia this season.
