Kuala Lumpur City FC surged into third place in the standings after delivering a commanding 4-0 victory over DPMM FC in the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 at KLFA Stadium, Cheras.
Safawi Rasid opened the scoring in the ninth minute, finishing clinically to ignite the home crowd. Just nine minutes later, he doubled the advantage with another composed strike, putting the hosts firmly in command before halftime.
The early brace gave KL City a platform to dictate tempo, while DPMM struggled to contain the relentless attacking movement orchestrated by head coach Risto Vidakovic’s men.
After the break, KL City maintained their intensity. Naturalised playmaker Paulo Josue extended the lead in the 61st minute, capitalising on sustained pressure to effectively put the contest beyond reach.
Nine minutes later, Spanish forward Victor Ruiz added his name to the scoresheet, completing a dominant four-goal exhibition and capping off a memorable night at home.
The result lifts KL City to 33 points, enough to leapfrog Kuching City into third place following their narrow defeat to Selangor earlier in the week.
For DPMM, the loss leaves them eighth in the standings with 18 points after 17 matches, as their inconsistency continues to hamper progress.
