Kelantan TRW FC edge first victory in this season after beating Penang FC scoring 1-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 at Stadium Bandaraya, Pulau Pinang.
After enduring two draws and one defeat in their opening fixtures, E. Elavasan’s men were determined to collect maximum points before the league pauses for the upcoming FIFA international calendar.
The breakthrough came in the 28th minute when Nigerian forward Ifedayo Olusegun capitalized on Penang’s defensive lapse. A failure by the hosts to clear the ball from a dangerous area allowed Ifedayo to unleash a powerful strike, beating former Harimau Malaya goalkeeper Khairulazhan Khalid with ease.
Despite Penang’s efforts to fight back, TRW stood firm to protect their slender lead until the final whistle.
The victory lifted Kelantan to fifth place in the standings with five points, trailing behind Selangor, while also boosting their confidence heading into the international break.
