Kedah Darul Aman earned 3 points at home after beating Terengganu FC scoring 1-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar.
The match began with intensity, with Kedah nearly taking the lead in the 14th minute from a free kick, but Terengganu’s goalkeeper Suhaimi Husin was up to the task, punching it clear. Terengganu’s best chance came in the 24th minute when Ismaheel Akinade’s powerful shot was brilliantly saved by Ifwat Ikmal.
Controversy struck when Sony Norde’s goal was ruled offside, and Terengganu were denied a penalty after a VAR review. However, Clayton broke the deadlock at the end of the first half, scoring with a header to give Kedah a 1-0 lead going into the break.
In the second half, Kedah pushed for a second goal, with Syafiq Ahmad’s header and Alif Zakaria’s attempts coming close. Terengganu substitute Chukwu Chijioke threatened Kedah’s defense with two rapid shots, but both missed the target.
Despite eight minutes of added time, the scoreline remained unchanged, and Kedah held on for the win. The victory lifted Kedah two spots to 9th in the standings, while Terengganu stayed in third place.
In the next round of fixtures, Kedah will face PDRM on October 25, and Terengganu will travel to Manjung to take on Perak.
