Johor Darul Ta’zim once again underlined their championship credentials after cruising to a 4-1 win over Kelantan TRW FC in the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
The Southern Tigers asserted control from the opening whistle, dictating tempo and territory before Brazilian forward Jairo da Silva finally broke the deadlock in the 21st minute to reward their early dominance.
Kelantan attempted to stay compact and strike on the counter, but JDT’s defensive organisation — marshalled confidently in front of Syihan Hazmi — left the visitors with little room to operate.
Just before half-time, Teto Martin struck to make it 2-0, placing JDT firmly in command at the break.
Any hopes of a Kelantan resurgence were swiftly extinguished after the restart. Filipino-Spanish playmaker Óscar Arribas extended the lead in the 51st minute, before Nazmi Faiz added a fourth five minutes later to turn the contest into a rout.
Kelantan’s only bright moment arrived in the 75th minute, when veteran midfielder Azam Azih unleashed a thunderous long-range effort to beat Syihan Hazmi — a rare lapse in an otherwise dominant JDT display.
JDT continued to pile on the pressure in the closing stages, peppering the Kelantan goal with chances, but the scoreline remained unchanged.
The emphatic victory further strengthens JDT’s position as the benchmark of the Liga Super, while Kelantan TRW are left searching for answers after another punishing night against the defending powerhouse.
